Will Muschamp, Jimbo Fisher close friends – and now rivals

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida State-Florida rivalry is one fueled by a mutual dislike on both sides. Hatred might not be too strong a word. So what happens now given that Florida has hired Will Muschamp – one of Jimbo Fisher's closest friends – to replace Urban Meyer?

Fisher and Muschamp are close. They talk often. Fisher last month held court with reporters after a Florida State practice. He told a short story about how he was looking forward to going on the road to recruit.

Fisher said he called "my boy Muschamp" to give Muschamp grief over a new NCAA rule that limited a head coach in waiting from recruiting like a regular assistant. Muschamp had been the head coach in waiting at Texas.
