Barcelona Eager To Snap Up Palermo Star Javier Pastore In The Summer
Barcelona are hoping to sign Palermo star Javier Pastore for the 2011-12 season, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
The young playmaker has emerged as one of the most promising talents in the world. He has been in fantastic form this season in Serie A, scoring four times, and steadily rising in the Castrol Rankings over the past year now up to 418th.
The report suggests that Pastore has already informed the Italian club that his preferred destination if he leaves is the Blaugrana.
It is also suggested that his friendship with Lionel Messi could prove a determining factor in the transfer.
Recently, River Plate coach Angel Cappa urged the Blaugrana to sign the midfielder, but Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has often insisted he wants to Pastore to remain with the club and put a high price tag on the player's head.
