A study of scientists at the University of Bristol, UK, 90% of cases of sudden death for children is directly related to maternal smoking during pregnancy also increase this risk with each hour the child is exposed to passive smoking.
And the scientists analyzed data from 21 study linking smoking and sudden death syndrome of children (SIDS) and found that nine cases of sudden death for children of every ten cases dating back to smoking mothers during pregnancy.
Scientists also discovered an increased risk of sudden death for children who are exposed to passive smoking for 8 hours a day, compared to children who were not exposed to it at all
