They came by road, by rail and, yes, by jet.
Swarms of Gang Green fans descended on Pittsburgh in advance of today's AFC Championship Game and brashly made themselves right at home in the Steel City.
"Something special is happening in Pittsburgh," said Brent Depeppe, 35, a salesman who flew in from Dallas. "There is a feeling in the air, I can feel it in my blood."
Depeppe and many of his fellow Jets fans said they felt compelled to make the trip to cheer on their beloved team in person - no matter the cost.
"I promised myself that if the Jets made it all the way to the AFC Championship, I would make it happen," said John Muller, 33, who took a redeye flight from his Seattle home to western Pennsylvania.
Muller believes he'll shell out about $3,000 for the weekend in Pittsburgh, and he has already booked a flight to Dallas, site of the Super Bowl.
"I know it's a lot of money but I'm here to witness history," said Muller. "How can you put a price on that? I'm here to be a part of something special."
Andrew Ferretti and his brother, Fred, left their New Providence, N.J., home at sunrise and drove 350 miles to Pittsburgh - and promised their journey wouldn't be in vain.
"There won't be any easy points, but the Jets are going to pull it out," said Ferretti, 28. "This could be it, the first [Super Bowl] in my lifetime.
"How in the world could I miss it?"
