European regulations of Google and Facebook

The EU announced the imposition of strict privacy controls, starting from next year on the websites like social networking and Internet search engines.

The union pointed out that these controls will give Internet users greater control on how to use sites like Facebook and Google to their personal information. It is expected that new regulations amend the old laws 15 years old.

The European Commission said in a statement that he should go, "the benefits of technology for individuals, companies and public authorities together with the necessary respect of personal data."

The Commission also wishes to grant more powers to those responsible for data protection in EU member states and review the privacy controls in police work and the development of uniform legislation in the European Union to reduce red tape for companies.

Growing concern
